Steel Panther - On The Prowl Australian Tour - Melbourne

Steel Panther brought their glam-metal spectacle to Margaret Court Arena, and it was exactly the over-the-top, party-rock extravaganza fans had hoped for. Known for their wild personas, sharp humour, and unapologetically loud style, the band turned up in Melbourne ready to entertain with a mix of powerful music, 80s nostalgia, and plenty of laughs.

Opening with the iconic ‘Eyes of a Panther’, the band immediately took control of the stage, with Satchel’s ripping guitar riffs filling the arena. Michael Starr’s vocals were both spot-on and theatrically exaggerated, capturing that glam-rock tone while playfully mocking it. The rhythm section, led by bassist Lexxi Foxx and drummer Stix Zadinia, brought punch and precision that’s rare in an act this tongue-in-cheek. Steel Panther don’t just put on a show—they’re clearly having a blast, and it’s contagious.

Fans were treated to hits like ‘Asian Hooker’, ‘Death to All But Metal’ and ‘Community Property’. Each track came with its own brand of in-your-face humour and sing-along moments, reminding everyone that Steel Panther knows exactly how to keep a crowd engaged. Between songs, the band’s banter was as much a part of the show as the music. Starr cracked jokes about Aussie culture, Satchel had a mid-show guitar solo that included some of the wildest (and funniest) licks, and Lexxi kept the glam image alive with a mirror and hairspray routine that had the crowd in stitches.

The stage production was fittingly flashy, with neon lights, leopard print, and fog machines giving the show that true 80s rock vibe. There were moments that felt like a time machine to a Strip club show, complete with audience participation as Starr invited fans up on stage for a few songs. It was part rock concert, part comedy show, and part celebration of everything that made hair metal so iconic.

Thanks to Steel Panther, TEG MJR, SGC Media and Margaret Court Arena for having MKA along for the night.
